If your tracks are broadcast
on the radio or played in public you would benifit from being
a member of PPL. If you do not register with PPL
they will not be able to pay you any airplay royalties you
are due.
PPL issue the liscences
to all radio stations, broadcasters, internet radio, pubs,
clubs and resturants. All fees collected are distributed to
the qualifying perfromers and the owner of the sound recording.
If you are a record company
and your tracks are broadcast on the radio or played in public,
you need to become a PPL member to ensure you receive any
airplay royalties that may be owed to you.
Whether you are a featured
artist or a session musician, if any tracks that you have
performed on are broadcast on the radio or played in public,
you need to register with UK Performer Services, a service
division within PPL, to ensure you receive any airplay
royalties that may be owed to you.
There is no joining fee.
